Capture dynamic images with a fast-aperture ultra wide-angle zoom lens

Covering focal lengths from 11-20mm (a full-frame equivalent of 16.5-30mm), this ultra wide-angle lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras features a maximum aperture of F2.8 and allows users to fully enjoy the distinctive depth-of-field and unique perspective provided by an ultra wide-angle lens. Enjoy a higher degree of photographic freedom than ever before, such as taking regular snapshots at the 20mm end, which has a rather natural angle of view, and then challenging yourself to take powerful ultra wide-angle shots at the wide end – all while enjoying the easy handling, creamy bokeh and other advantages that fast-aperture lenses offer. The lens shines in various scenarios, including architecture, landscape, indoor environmental portraits, travel and interior photography.

A design so compact and lightweight, it’s hard to believe it’s an ultra wide-angle lens

The lens was designed to be exceptionally compact and lightweight, an ideal match with APS-C mirrorless cameras. It has an overall length of 86.2mm (3.4in) and weighs only 335g (11.8oz)2. Imagine a lens so small and light that it is hard to believe it’s a full-fledged fast-aperture ultra wide-angle zoom and it’s easy to carry. You can concentrate on shooting without worrying about bulk or weight. When used with a compatible APS-C mirrorless camera body, you’ll enjoy carefree handheld shooting of still images and find it comfortable to shoot video even when using a compact tripod or gimbal.

Enjoy the outstanding optical performance of the TAMRON 11-20mm F2.8

The 11-20mm F2.8 is a high-resolution lens that focuses on superb image quality as a fast-aperture ultra wide-angle zoom. The optical construction includes 12 elements in 10 groups. High resolution performance is maintained across the entire frame with the well-balanced arrangement of two GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements. Two LD (Low Dispersion) and one XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) lens elements are used to suppress the chromatic aberrations that tend to occur when shooting at the wide-open aperture of fast-aperture lenses. These features combine to render clear, crisp images. In addition, the use of the lens correction features built into cameras lets users harness extra lens performance gains.

Camera: Sony α6600 Focal length: 11mm Exposure: F5.6 1/1000sec ISO 100

Indulge in the exciting world of wide-angle macro with an MOD (Minimum Object Distance) of 0.15m

The MOD is just 0.15m (5.9in) at the widest end. This extreme close-range shooting performance allows you to get as close to a subject as you like. The maximum magnification ratio is 1:4 (an astonishing feat for an ultra wide-angle lens) and it unlocks powerful wide-angle macro shooting utilizing the unique perspective that makes near objects look larger and distant objects smaller. Additionally, using the F2.8 maximum aperture produces a shallower depth-of-field that creates soft bokeh in the background, allowing users to take distinctive images with unique characteristics.

Explore a wide variety of situations by combining two lenses in TAMRON’s series of fast-aperture zooms for APS-C mirrorless cameras

By combining the 11-20mm F2.8 and its balance of excellent portability and high image quality with the 17-70mm F/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD (Model B070)3, these two lenses cover an extreme range of focal lengths from 11mm to 70mm (a full-frame equivalent of 16.5mm to 105mm) with a fast, wide-open aperture of F2.8. The combined weight of the two lenses is only approximately 860g (30.3 oz)4. Drastically reducing bulky size and weight is advantageous during shooting and transportation and is convenient during travel when you want to lighten the load of your camera bag. Additionally, like most of the TAMRON’s other lenses for mirrorless cameras, the filter size is standardized at 67mm. In addition to allowing the shared use of PL and other filters between lenses, the unified size is also highly convenient as it eliminates the hassle of finding the right lens cap when switching lenses. With these two lenses covering a broad angle of view, users can easily enjoy photography spanning various genres from portrait work to tabletop photography and landscapes. Have it all!

3. 17-70mm F2.8 for CANON RF mount is not launched as of October, 2024.

High performance RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) autofocus operates quietly and accurately captures subjects when shooting both still and video

The AF drive on the 11-20mm F2.8 includes an RXD stepping motor unit to help you stay focused on the action. RXD uses an actuator to precisely control the rotational angle of the motor, allowing it to directly drive the focusing lens without passing through a reduction gear. A sensor that precisely detects the position of the lens enables high-speed and accurate AF, which is ideal when shooting continually moving subjects or recording video. And with a focusing system that is both smooth and quiet, the 11-20mm F2.8 lets you shoot free of stress or worrying about the drive sound in a quiet environment.

CANON RF mount is equipped with an AF/MF switch and is compatible with the TAMRON Lens UtilityTM software

The 11-20mm F2.8 for CANON RF mount is equipped with an AF/MF switch for easier operation.

In addition, with the CANON RF mount version, users can employ the dedicated TAMRON Lens Utility software that was developed in-house by TAMRON5. This application enables users to easily update the lens to the latest firmware themselves without going through the camera6. On the firmware information screen, you can check the version of your lens and update it if a newer firmware version is available.

5. To connect your PC and lens, use the TAMRON Connection Cable (USB Type-A to Type-C/ Model CC-150, or USB Type-C to Type-C/ Model CC-350) sold separately.
6. Certain functions cannot be customized with the 11-20mm F2.8.

Unified 67mm filter diameter

Nearly all TAMRON mirrorless lenses have a 67mm filter size. This allows users to use the same filter among a wide range of lenses. PL and ND filters are typically expensive, so sharing saves money. Additionally, this eliminates the need to search for caps with different diameters when switching lenses. All lenses in this series are compact, lightweight and extremely portable, making it easier when carrying multiple lenses at the same time.
